GLOBAL OBJECTIVE
Explain components and principles of smart grid and experiment with some of them

DETAILED OBJECTIVES
Context & Challenges:

  • Explain impacts of smart grid at different scale (home, building, city, territory).
  • Explain the role of smart grid in energy transitions and the evolutions of actors’ roles in the value chain.

Electric Network & Infrastructure:

  • Master functioning of technical elements that are part of the smart grid in order to contribute to the development of new devices.
  • Master main functioning modes of electric grids (transmission, distribution) and interconnections constraints in order to intervene on existing system or developing new system particularly applied to renewable.

Information System dedicated to Energy:

  • Prepare/design digital components that contribute to collect and control energy devices.

Management and Decisional System:

  • Apply methods and tools to exploit energy data in order to optimise energy efficiency of network.

Policy & Economy in Energy

  • Explain development plan of smart grid in regards to pricing policy and rentability of investment.
